This pole is directed by François-Guy Trébulle, Law Professor at Paris Sorbonne University and Mathilde Hautereau-Boutonnet, Professor at Lyon University.

Missions

The Environment Law pole is at the heart of European Law and various branches of internal – either public or private – law. This field involves Civil Law (in particular Tort and Contract Law), Business Law (environmental accounting, environmental disclosures, finance and environment, governance, Corporate Social Responsibility) and Health Law as well as Fundamental Rights aspects.

The main research areas relate to modern-day topics, such as Environmental Liability, Wastes, GMOs and – of course – polluted soils...

The pole has tight connections with other poles so as to develop synergies.


François Guy Trébulle is a Law Professor at Paris Descartes (Paris V) University. He also teaches aspects of Environmental Law at Paris II Panthéon-Assas and Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne Universities. He is the scientific co-director of the Jurisclasseur Environmental Law and Sustainable Development (LexisNexis), member of the Scientific Committee of reviews “Bulletin of Industrial Environmental Law”(BDEI Lamy/Wolter Kluwer) and “Environmental Law” (Victoires editions) and member of “Law and City” selection panel. He is in charge of the Environmental Law Panorama in the Recueil Dalloz, Business Law and Sustainable Development chronicle in JCPE and Environment in the Construction Law Review.

Furthermore, he is the author of several publications on Environmental Law, including Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Ethic (Répertoire Dalloz Sociétés, mars 2003); Environment in Business Law (in Aspects actuels du droit des affaires. Mathilde Hautereau-Boutonnet is Professor at the Jean Moulin University, Lyon 3 (CNRS, UMR 5600 EVS, IDE) and directs various international scientific collaborations (co-coordinator of GDRI Justice and Environmental Law). As a specialist in environmental law, his individual and collective research deals with the role of certain actors (judges, companies, NGOs), concepts (environmental obligations) and legal instruments in the protection of the environment (contract, liability, property, ), And more specifically in the fight against pollution and climate change. She co-directs or manages various columns on the subject ("Contract and Sustainable Development" in the Review of Contracts, "Notarial Practice and the Environment", "Comparative Environmental Law" in the journal Energie Environnement Infrastructures, "In the Bulletin of Industrial Environmental Law). 

She is the author of a Thesis on the Precautionary Principle in Civil Liability Law (LGDJ 2005), regularly publishes collective research in books or special issues of journal (not contract and environment, study of internal law, International and European, PUAM The Contract and the Environment, Comparative Law Study, Bruylant 2015, What Values ​​for Biodiversity?, With E.
