This pole is directed by Hélène Tissandier, Associate Professor/HDR at the University Paris Dauphine.  

Missions:

The Labour law pole aims at establishing a network of expertise in a field of law that is now central to discussions on the building of the European Union. The development of European Labour Law is still chaotic and controversial and it appears particularly difficult to reach a consensus.

As a consequence, the sensitivity of the questions at stake makes it crucial to have a strong commitment of European lawyers in the European law-making process.


Pascal Lokiec, Professor at the University Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense, is an expert in labour law, which he teaches in its national, European and comparative dimensions. He also teaches comparative labour law at Sciences Po Paris. His areas of interests include the relationships between labour law and company law, among which the issue of corporate social responsibility. He also is the director of the Master of European laws at the University Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense, and is currently co-director of the European and comparative part of a French labour law review (Revue de Droit du Travail, Dalloz). His publications include “Fundamental Rights and Labour Law”,(dir. A. Lyon-Caen, P. Sophie Robin-Olivier is a Law Professor at Paris I University. She has a MBA from Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC), a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Social & Economic Law from the University of Paris-Dauphine, a PhD from the University of Aix-Marseille, and the "Agregation de droit privé". She has taught at several law schools, in France and the United States (Boston College Law School). Pr. Robin-Olivier is the author of « Le principe d'égalité en droit communautaire, étude à partir des libertés économiques (PUAM, 1999), and “Droit européen, Union européenne - Conseil de l’Europe” together with Pr. J.S. Bergé (PUF, 2011). She is the editor of « Les échanges entre les droits, L’expérience communautaire”, together with Pr. D. Fasquelle (Bruylant, 2009) and “Diversité et discriminations raciales : une perspective transatlantique”, together with F. Guiomard (Dalloz, thèmes et commentaires, 2009). She has written many articles on European and Comparative law, among which: The Magic of Combination: Uses and Abuses of the Globalization of Sources by European Courts (2011) ; Droit du commerce international et protection des droits sociaux (2011); Politique sociale de l’Union européenne (2010), Normative Interactions and the Development of Labour Law: A European Perspective (2009) ; French Prohibition of Harassment at Work : A Case of Complex Articulation of Moral and Sex, under European Influence (2009) ; Libre prestation de services, marchés publics et régulation sociale : le droit européen privilégie la concurrence fondée sur le coût du travail (2008).

                                                            DERECHO SOCIAL

 

Directores: Pascal Lokiec, profesor en la Universidad de  Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense, y Sophie Robin-Olivier, profesora en la Facultad de Derecho de la Sorbona (París I).

El grupo de trabajo “Derecho social”  tiene como objetivo crear una red de expertos concentrados en uno de los campos del derecho europeo que se encuentra actualmente en el centro de los debates.

La construcción de una ley social en la Unión Europea actualmente está rodeada de polémica, y un consenso en la materia es difícil. Por lo tanto, son de gran importancia tratar las problemáticas de este derecho, es necesaria la participación de los juristas europeos en los debates y en el proceso de redacción.
